It’s going to be a high voltage few weeks. It’s always like this right before shows. Guys come together, practice. Lance gets into his head alot around this time. Understandable, this is what he loves. Its what he was made for, to do. As of now there are 3 bands Lance is in,
“Weapon X” “Death Dream” and “Nightmare Asylum”
Death Dream and Nightmare Asylum are in the new stages, Weapon X has been around for a while. It’s Lance’s longest lasting band. His band Antennas to Hell band just ended, it was a good band. Went on a few tours, US and overseas. Unfortunately to much of other people’s egos and, well girls your going to hate this but it’s the truth. Wife’s and girlfriends are the biggest issues in bands. Why this is I’m not sure. Could be an attention thing or just a bad relationship they just keep holding onto. It’s hard to date a musician, then again I suppose that subject is a blog post of its own.
We live in a small town, let’s just call it Mayberry. Except with more hippies!! It’s hard for any metal band to get booked here, mostly it’s a huge underground scene. Some shows turn out with a shit ton of people, other shows its a other band and thier girlfriends type of thing. No matter the amount of people Lance’s and the guys always put on a show like 10 million people are out there. You put your heart into something and it shows.
Weapon X and Antennas to Hell did some amazing shit for a small town bands. Opened for some huge Metal bands like Otep even opened for Skidrow!! Weapon X even recorded an album. Lance always tells me the momentum is a big thing in a band. Push hard and stay with it. It has been hard to see him get so close and something happens, it turns out pushing him back. In the end tho, he never gives up. As much as I see it in his eyes. As much as he breaks down and tells me he is tired. He never gives up.
I’m excited for the shows coming up in the next few weeks. One is even in a venue in town, those are hard for metal bands to book. This will be the first show for Death Dream. Can’t wait for them to kickass.
